The Deserted Villages of Colintraive

When the chapel was built there were two villages near by which have long since been abandoned. Today the platforms lie on either side of the ‘new road’, the A866 leading out from Colintraive village.

Above Feorline there are nineteen platforms found over some 41 acres. The larger group is set in the oak wooded hillside to the east of the road. This has forty-four platforms spread over 115 acres. On the platforms were timber framed, circular buildings which were used as houses, byres, and stores.
